2009 Philmont Trip Information

Philmont is considered to be the pinnacle of High Adventure activities for the Boy Scouts of America. Our Troop is very lucky to have been awarded a Philmont Crew Intenary for August of 2009. Yes, even though this is still 10 months away it is time to start organizing the Crew for Troop 993's 2009 Philmont High Adventure Trek. Troop 993 has 8 spots open on our Philmont Crew. The upcoming Hike O Ree will be the first Training Outing for the Troop's Philmont Venture Crew.

To be a member of the Crew you must first meet these basic requirements - Be First Class and 14 years of age on January 1, 2009. These are only the basic requirements, the Troop will have more requirements (have earned certain merit badges, attendance at training campouts and training meetings, Red Cross CPR Certified, etc.) which will need to be met to ensure your position on the crew. These requirements and others including costs will be discussed at a Philmont Crew organizational meeting on October 23, at 7:30PM.

Each qualified Scout that is interested in going to Philmont needs to attend the October 23 meeting with a parent or Guardian.
