  Rte 1 South to Fairfax County Parkway  

Fairfax County Parkway to Backlick Rd. north

Backlick Rd. to Fairfax County Parkway West

Fairfax County Parkway to I-66 west

I-66 west to Front Royal exit 340 south (exit 6).

After 1 mile turn right on 55 west.

After 5 miles turn left on 678.

After about 3 miles, turn left into the Group campsite.

Jamestown Family Campsite

Turn Left on US-1 SOUTH

Take I-95 SOUTH towards RICHMOND - go 76.4 mi

Take exit #84A towards ROCKY MT NC onto I-295 SOUTH - go 14.7 mi

Take exit #28A towards VA BEACH/NORFOLK onto I-64 EAST - go 33.6 mi

Take exit #234 towards LIGHTFOOT onto VA-199 EAST - go 6.3 mi

Take the JAMESTOWN exit - go 0.2 mi

Turn Right on VA-321 WEST - go 0.4 mi

Turn Left on VA-613 - go 0.1 mi

Turn Right on IRONBOUND RD - go 1.9 mi

Continue on SANDY BAY RD - go 0.3 mi 7

Turn Right on VA-31 - go 1.5 mi

Arrive at 2217 JAMESTOWN RD, WILLIAMSBURG, on the RIGHT

Rte 1 South to Fairfax County Parkway

Take the Fairfax County Parkway to Route 66 West

Take Route 66 west to Exit 13, Route 79 to 55, Linden, Front Royal

Follow Route 55 west towards Front Royal for 4.8 miles until it intersects Route 522 (stoplight)

Turn Left and follow Route 522 for 1.7 miles.

Turn Right onto Route 604 and follow it 2.0 miles to the

Rte 1 South to Fairfax County Parkway

Follow the Fairfax County Parkway west to I-66 West.

Proceed on I-66 to the end. I-66 will end at I-81, take I-81 South to Roanoke

Stay on I-81 for 4 miles and exit at Exit 296 Strasburg.

Exit 296 is Route 55, so at the top of the ramp turn right for 55W toward Wardensville. You will proceed on 55 for about 8 miles.

Around the 8 mile mark you will go down a steep hill with a couple of curves and then a long straight where you will cross a bridge. Just after the bridge make a left turn onto Star Tannery Road. There is a sign for a POST OFFICE on 55 where you make the left.

Follow this road for about 4 miles. On the way to the lodge you will come to a split in the road, continue to follow the road to the left and you should immediately see the STAR MARKET on your left. You are almost there.

Proceed on ST Road, you will come to a steep hill with a curve to the left. The Lodge road is in the curve directly in front of you as you come up the hill. If you make the curve and start up the long steep hill you went to far.

The yellow gate will be open. Drive to the top of the hill for further instructions.

 CAMP WILSON

Leave Church parking lot, turn right on Washington Ave

Turn Left on to Mohawk Lane

TURN Left ONTO U.S. RT. 1 SOUTH. Proceed South (note Gas Station and 7/11 on the opposite left-hand corner, plus numerous signs for the Park on the right),

TURN LEFT ONTO GUNSTON RD.

Proceed exactly 1.8 miles down Gunston Rd.; when you see several small, yellow signs on the right shoulder for a Fire/Rescue Squad, slow down. TURN LEFT ONTO THE DIRT ROAD JUST BEFORE FIRE/RESCUE STATION (Note that Road is outlined by 2 old stone sentinel/ signposts; there's also a white mailbox with the name "Moore" at the entrance). If you pass the Fire/Rescue Station (just past the entrance road on the left), you went too far!

Proceed 100 yards to entrance gate, and through into camp (another 150 yards.) There will be a large field on your right as you enter into the camp proper.

New Market Battlefield State Historical Park

Rte 1 South to Fairfax County Parkway

Follow the Fairfax County Parkway west to I-66 West.

Proceed on I-66 to the end. I-66 will end at I-81, take I-81 South to Roanoke

Stay on I-81 and exit at Exit 264, New Market Battlefield, Rt. 211 West

Take immediate right onto Rt. 305 (George Collins Parkway).

Continue one mile until you see the circular, distinctive Hall of Valor, which is the museum.

Camp Big Mac

Take Interstate 66, West, to Markham, VA, exit 18 (approximately 15 miles east of Front Royal).

There will be some traffic delays around the Nissan Post Pavilion exits, so plan accordingly.

Turn left (South) on Route #688, Leeds Manor Rd. at end of ramp.

Cross Route #55 (first intersection)

Turn right at "T" intersection. This continues Route #688, Leeds Manor Rd 688 makes a left dog-leg turn at the dumpster site, and crosses railroad tracks.

Turn right on Route #728 (Moss Hollow Rd). This road starts as a paved road, becomes gravel after 1/4 mile. Follow to end of road, approximately 2.5 miles.

Left at "End State Maintenance" sign into Camp Big Mac. This is essentially a dead-end road into two camps.

Drive up to the main lodge area - past the COPE course (left) and the basketball court (right).

For the GPS savvy, the NAD83 coordinates are:

lat = 38 degrees 52.499 minutes North  lon = 78 degrees 02.202 minutes West

Camp Highroad

Take Route 50 West from I-66
 Pass R-28
About 11 miles, you will come to Gilbert's Corner: R-50 and R-15 intersection
Go through Gilbert's Corner
Take a Right on Snickersville Turnpike (R-734) Just after the town of Aldie
R-50 bends to the left, so the turn is a bit hidden when coming from the east.
Take a Right on Lime Kiln Road (about 4.5 miles) It is the first major intersection on 734,
Take a Left on Steptoe Hill Road (about 1 mile) This is the main road of the camp
You will see a sign for Camp Highroad

 

  Timberline Ski Resort

 

 

 

Take I-66 W to 81 South to Strasburg, Take Rt. 55 W (Includes new H-Corridor) to Seneca Rocks. Rt. 33/55 W to Harman, then WV 32 N to Canaan Valley.
