WELCOME

At the time of your induction, the Troop will provide you with a neckerchief, the Boy Scout Handbook, Troop numbers and council patch.  It is each new scouts responsibility to acquire their own uniform. Any adult within the Troop can provide you with information on where and approximate cost of the items needed.

Now that you are a member of Troop 993 it is time to earn the rank of Scout.

To earn Scout rank you must be able to:

  • Repeat the Pledge of Allegiance

  • Demonstrate the Scout sign, salute, and handshake

  • Demonstrate tying the square knot (joining knot)

  • Understand and agree to live by the Scout Oath, law, motto, slogan, and the Outdoor Code

  • Describe the Scout badge

  • Complete the exercises in the pamphlet in the front of your new Scout Handbook

  • Participate in a Scoutmaster conference

If you earned the Arrow of Light, you have mastered most of these requirements. If you have not or are unsure of some, one of our Scouts are available to assist you by teaching you the requirements to begin your scouting career.

Afterwards, the Troop Guide along with our scouts and qualified adult leaders will help you master your Scouting skills needed to advance to Tenderfoot, Second Class, First Class rank and ultimately EAGLE.

If you are an adult interested in joining Troop 993 you must provide:

  • Completed and signed Adult Application (optional)

  • Vehicle Insurance Information

  • Troop Resource Survey (click here for form)

  • Merit Badge Counselor Application * (If interested in becoming Merit Badge Counselor, click here for form)

These forms will allow us (and the Scouts) to know what special talents you can bring to the Troop and the programs offered.
