Welcomes you to Boy Scouting

Dear New Scout Parent,

Troop 993’s Committee, Scoutmaster, Assistant Scout Masters, and Senior Patrol Leaders extend a big welcome to you and your son and look forward to you both having a great Scouting experience with us.   You can find details about our troop at our website www.bsatroop993.org.  For quick reference here are some important dates and information for you as you start a new scouting experience.

Joining the Troop:   An application and necessary medical forms are attached.  Please fill out the forms and bring to the first troop meeting.  Membership fee is $50 (check payable to BSA Troop 993).  This initial cost covers BSA fees, hat, book and uniform patches.  Each February following this initial membership, is $20 per scout.  Fees are charged for various outings, but usually are between $10-$20.

Troop Meetings :  Our Troop meets every Monday evening 7:30 – 8:30 at Wesley United Methodist Church’s Fellowship Hall.  Parents are welcome to stay and watch the meeting or join other parents in the “committee room” to talk and/or do administrative work.  Scouts should wear their Class “A” uniform (scout shirt, pants, belt, scarf are the minimum) and bring their scouting book, a small notebook and a pen to every meeting.

Communication:   Give us your e-mail address and we will add you to the troop list server to receive important information and reminders.
