Here are some questions and answers for parents and boys considering joining Boy Scout Troop 993 at Wesley United Methodist Church:
Q: Where does the troop meet? A: The troop meets every Monday night at 7:30 p.m. at Wesley United Methodist Church, located at 8412 Richmond Avenue, Alexandria, VA 22309 You can get a map by clicking here.
Q: What is the cost of membership? A: There is a $ 50.00 fee to join the Troop. Then an annual re-charter fee of $20.00 per Scout and $ 10.00 per adult.
Q: How old must a boy be to join Boy Scouting? A: A boy must be at least 10.5 years of age and/or have completed his Arrow of Light award in Cub Scouts. Scouts may earn ranks up until the age of 18, when they can be considered for a role as a Assistant Scoutmaster.
Q: What are the goals and objectives of Troop 993? A: The troop subscribes to the three aims of Scouting: Teaching boys values, citizenship and physical fitness. Additionally, the troop wants to be active providing service to the community. It wants to provide a boy-led troop, with adult leaders acting as advisors.

Q: Who is the Scoutmaster? Who is the Troop Committee Chairman? A: Paul MacDonald is the troop's current Scoutmaster. Mr. MacDonald has been the Scoutmaster since January of 2005 and was an assistant Scoutmaster for 6 years before becoming the Scoutmaster. Ms. Dottie Dilts is the Troop Committee Chairman. Mr.
Skidmore has been selected by the church to work as our Charter Organization Representative.
Q: Who are the boy leaders of the troop? A: The troop is organized into
five patrols, the Sonic Griffins, Pyros, Phoenix, Eagles, and the JASM's. Each patrol has a Patrol leader and an assistant Patrol Leader. The Troop has a Senior Patrol Leader and three assistant Senior Patrol Leaders,
