Code Of Conduct

Scouts are expected to obey the Troop 993 Code of Conduct which is based on the principles of the Scout Oath and Scout Law. The purpose of the Code is to ensure that everyone has fun while achieving the objectives of Scouting. Behavior not consistent with the rules stated below may result in disciplinary action including Warnings, Probation or Expulsion from the Troop.

Scouts will:

  • Tell the truth.
  • Show respect for fellow Scouts.
  • Follow the directions of the youth Scout leaders and adult leaders associated with the Troop.
  • Strive to be an exemplary leader within the Troop.
  • Wear their uniforms properly and with pride.
  • Stay current in paying Scout dues, fees and assessments.

Scouts will not:

  • Throw or shoot any objects except as part of an approved Scout or Troop activity.
  • Hit, punch, push, kick or trip other persons.
  • Fight or do anything to provoke a fight.
  • Play with knives or fire.
  • Intimidate, bully or otherwise harass other Scouts.
  • Leave campsite or meeting without permission from the Scoutmaster.
  • Take or use anything not belonging to them without the permission of the owner.
  • Use profanity or abusive language.
  • Call other people names or make derogatory remarks.
  • Smoke, drink alcohol or use any illegal substances.
  • Act in a loud or disorderly manner at meetings.
  • Play unsupervised games or run in campsite areas.
  • Take any action which could result in injury to another person or the destruction of property.
  • Litter campsites, meeting rooms or other areas.
